Favorite Thing about an NYCDA Weekend?
“The hustle, the non-stop movement, and the exchange of the most valuable commodity - inspiration.”
Dana was born in Aurora, Colorado, and studied many forms of dance at Michelle Latimer Dance Academy. She was a past NYCDA Regional Outstanding Dancer, and at age 18 moved to Los Angeles to follow her dream, pursue her career, and continue to train. In little time, Dana found work on contemporary companies, commercials, musical videos, and a world tour with Justin Timberlake. Dana has lit the stage as a performer, become passionate for the behind-the-scenes facets of dance-driven projects as an assistant choreographer, and has fallen in love with teaching and choreographing as well. Above all, she is an admirer of movement and is eager to continue to share her passion for dance. On and off the clock, Dana is a leading voice in her community, as Dancers’ Alliance Board member, SAG/AFTRA Ambassador, and creator of her very own Dance Industry webseries called “More Than Moves TV”. She is an admirer and student of movement with a soft spot for dance history, and a finger on the pulse of the future of the dance
Dana toured with Justin Timberlake on his world tour “FutureSex/Love Show.” She’s also been featured in “Criss Angel Believe,” “Nikelodeon Kids Choice Awards,” “Cirque du Soleil” and an off-Broadway rendition of “The Wiz.” Dana has also worked with recording artists Justin Beiber, Britney Spears, to Earth Wind & Fire, The Backstreet Boys, and Joe Jonas.
Dana has performed on every award show from the MTV VMAs to the Grammys. She has been seen on "Dancing With the Stars", "So You Think You Can Dance", "America's Got Talent", "Jimmy Fallon", "Ellen" and "SNL". You can also spot her in numerous commercials including Verizon, Microsoft, Amazon Prime, Bud Light, and Southwest Airlines. You can even see her on the big screen in "Charlie Wilson's War" with Tom Hanks, and "LA LA LAND" starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.
Most recently, Dana created her own company, The Bureau of Non-verbal Communication, based in Northern California. She created online content that has sparked relationships with GoPro, and the 360 camera, Ricoh Theta. She also choreographed on Season 7 of "So You Think You Can Dance" and has created alongside some of the greatest choreographers of our time including Marty Kudelka, Wade Robson, Toni Basil and our very own Andy Blankenbuehler.
