The NYC Dance Alliance Foundation, Inc. is an IRS approved 501(c)(3) public charity, committed to broadening performing arts awareness while advocating education and high standards of excellence in dance.  NYCDAF is dedicated to investing in the next generation of professional performers by offering scholarships for secondary and college education. 

Dear Dance Family,

I am proud to introduce the NYC Dance Alliance Foundation, Inc. – an IRS approved 501(c)(3) public charity. The Foundation is dedicated to empowering the next generation of professional dancers by advocating education and offering scholarships for secondary and college training. Nothing of this magnitude exists – sending a strong message of education, investing in teenagers with thousands of dollars, and supporting the arts – a winning combination!

I am humbled by the incredible support we have already received from the professional dance world. Thanks to the visionary generosity of these industry leaders: Dance Magazine, Capezio, Steps On Broadway and “The Radio City Christmas Spectacular”, well over $100,000 in college scholarships was quickly committed to help 'kick-off' the 2010-2011 fundraising campaign.  As we head into our second fundraising season, more leaders of the dance industry are looking to show their support.

I am also encouraged by the enthusiastic grass roots support from local dance studios across the United States. This is a nationwide effort. The potential of what can be accomplished is incredible! Now, I need YOUR help to take the next step.   If everyone that reads this letter offered even some minimal support, imagine the college scholarships we could endow! Will you help make a difference in the lives of some talented dancers...PLUS help send the message of ‘college education’ to all of our young teenagers?!?

Over the last 17 years, I have met some incredible talent while conducting NYC Dance Alliance workshops across the United States. It has always been my goal to assist this talent to flourish, not only at our events, but also as they make their way to a professional career. With this new Foundation, we can ALL help these amazing young performers continue their education...and truly change their lives forever!

In 2011, this young organziation has already awarded nearly $3 million dollars in scholarships to 40+ talented teenagers…in collaboration with our College Partners. It would not have happened without your help.  Just image what 2012 could bring!!
