Special Opportunities

In addition to our prestigious Outstanding Dancer Program, NYCDA continues to assist dancers to take the next step into the 'real world.' We are proud of our continued support from the professional dance community and are excited to make these opportunities available to 'our kids' each weekend!

'Rockette' Award

Each weekend one talented dancer will be selected for their 'Rockette potential' and awarded a full scholarship to Radio City's "The Rockette Experience."
Perry-Mansfield Young Artist Program: Each weekend one talented dancer is automatically accepted to this prestigious program in Colorado...and offered a $300 stipend towards the tuition. Perry-Mansfield is recognized as the oldest operating performing arts school in the nation. The mission is to 'provide young people superior arts training in body, heart and mind'.

UARTS Summer Intensive

Each weekend one talented dancer is automatically accepted to the acclaimed training program at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. With this recognition comes a $300+ stipend towards the tuition.
 

STEPS on Broadway Summer Intensive

Each weekend one talented dancer is automatically accepted to a Summer Intensive at the internationally professional school, STEPS on Broadway in NYC. With this recognition comes a $800 stipend towards the tuition.

NYCDA Triple Threat Awards

Each weekend a select number of dancers will be automatically accepted into the NYCDA Summer Dance Intensive. Dancers must demonstrate their versatility and work ethic throughout the convention weekend. This award also includes their 'nomination' for one of eight $500 merit scholarships towards the tuition.

All registered Workshop dancers will be considered for these Special Opportunities and Awards. No special audition required. Selection based on faculty observations throughout the weekend. Only dancers wearing audition numbers will be considered.
