Come see Andy Blankenbuehler
in the Broadway production of "Man Of La Mancha". He also
choreographed "Night On Broadway", opening to rave reviews
at Caesar's in Atlantic City. Leslie Browne
will do double duty in an upcoming, still untitled, dance film.
As an actress, she will portray the artistic director of a company,
while actually choreographing all the dance scenes. Daniel
Catanach received rave reviews for his world premiere of Urban
Ballet Theatre. He's enjoying his new position as the Artisitc Director
of the Henry Street Settlement. AC Ciulla
has some irons in the fire for new Broadway projects - having just
returned from choreographing "Stars On Ice". Lisa
Danias continues to coach aspiring young ballerinas, with students
at the School of American Ballet in NYC and the Rock School in PA.
Lisa Hopkins enjoyed a successful
tour of her Christmas show, "Scrooge". Upcoming projects
include "TapKids" and "Dream". Laurie
Kanyok is currently featured in the new Twyla Tharp/Billy Joel
musical, "Movin' Out". Dan Karaty
is juggling projects in London, Los Angeles, and New York. Next
up - a new movie for comedian Jamie Kennedy. Joe
Lanteri continues to travel the globe directing/choreographing
a variety of industrials. Most recently, Maui for IBM. The best
part - he hires many NYCDA alumni. Mia
Michaels is immersed in her exciting new project, "Celine
Dion A New Day", opening March 27 at the Colosseum at Caesar's
Palace in Vegas. We're all so excited for her!! Rhonda
Miller has been specially chosen to participate in a choreographic
showcase called "Dance Break", sponsored by the Society
of Stage Directors and Choreographers. Mike
Minery is in demand all across the United States. He will be
taking time out this Spring to mount an evening of his own choreography.
Jason Parsons will be returning to
Korea with his company Parsons Dance. Desmond
Richardson is featured in the February issue of Dance Magazine.
Check out the cover! He also begins rehearsals for the new Burt
Bachrach Broadway musical, "The Look Of Love", with choreography
by Ann Reinking. Bahiyah Sayyed Gaines
continues to tour as a featured soloist with The Alvin Ailey American
Dance Theater. Dance Magazine has named her one of the world's top
