Winter Contemporary Intensive 2023
(Dancers age 16-21)

Under the leadership of the Artistic Director of Ballets Jazz Montréal, Alexandra Damiani, the mission of the NYCDA Winter Contemporary Dance Intensive is to offer an insight into international contemporary dance. The program allows aspiring professional dancers the opportunity to experience the work of established and emerging international contemporary choreographers, within a classroom and rehearsal setting. This intensive lays the groundwork for the expectations of any prestigious college dance program or first exposure to the concert dance company experience. This winter session will focus on the repertory work of 3 selected choreographers.

Past choreographic repertory has included the works of:

Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, William Forsythe, Jiri Kylian, Ohad Naharin, Crystal Pite, Hofesh Schechter…. and more.
