2008 MINI Outstanding Dancer Information

ORIENTATION MEETING
Thursday July 10     12:00pm Empire Room, 2nd floor

• All dancers vying for the National Mini Outstanding Dancer Scholarships will receive numbers and badges at this meeting that must be worn at all times (except performance) during the National Season Finale!. Dancers must submit solo performance music at this time. Dancers will also “draw” for placement order for the solo adjudication which begins at 8:00 AM on Friday July 11 for the Minis.

• All Mini Outstanding Dancers will go immediately into rehearsal for the Mini Opening Number, choreographed by Tony nominated, Emmy award winning choreographer, AC Ciulla for the Junior Gala. The rehearsal will begin following the meeting, will be in the NY Ballroom East on the 3rd floor and will last until 5:30 pm. At this time all dancers may have costume fittings and will be finished at different times between 5:30 and 7 pm. Parents can leave dancers during the rehearsal period but should be available for pick-up beginning at 5:30 pm.

• All Mini Outstanding Dancers (MOD) will be dancing in the Mini Ballroom for the workshop classes.

MINI OUTSTANDING DANCER JAZZ SCHOLARSHIP AUDITION
Tuesday, July 15     12:30—1:30 PM     location given at orientation

JUNIOR GALA
Wednesday, July 16 7:30 PM     Metropolitan Ballroom

• All MOD should arrive at the Central Park Room at 6:30 to dress for the opening number. Each dancer should also have their solo costume should they be named a finalist.

• Dancers in Critics’ Choice finalist numbers should have these costumes preset with their school group. Performance order is posted following the opening number and the announcement of Outstanding Dancer finalists, which is onstage that evening.

COSTUMES
Girls—tan jazz shoes/tights.
Boys -danceable black dress pants, black socks/black jazz shoes.
