WORKSHOP GUIDELINES
ONE-DAY WORKSHOP OPTION (non-competing dancers only): One-day
workshop registration must be submitted on a separate form. Register
anytime up to the morning of attendance. Pre-registration is suggested
as Workshop Levels do sell out.
One-day teacher registration does not include a Gala ticket
or Cocktail Reception ticket.
All Gala tickets are subject to availability - no guarantees.
Teachers and Asst. Teachers only are permitted access to
all ballrooms.
Observers are allowed with participating dancers and must
not be teachers, dancers or studio owners.
Observers may observe classes in the Mini, Junior, Teen and
Senior ballrooms only.
All pre-registered workshop participants will receive Certificates
of Commendation.
All tuitions are non-refundableno exceptions.
Scholarships may be redeemed by deducting amount from total
on Workshop Registration Form where indicated.
Discount rates apply to all registrations received by May 14, 2010.
Dancers must be at least 7 yrs. old to participate in the
workshop.
Special Canadian/International discounts - call NYCDA office for details.
No Canadian checks will be accepted - bank money orders only.
Workshop may sell-out and walk-ins may be turned away. Call
in advance.
CONVENTION ETIQUETTE
Dancers are expected to maintain professional classroom
etiquette at all times.
Dancers must wear cover-ups outside the ballroom area.
Please respect the property of the Waldorf-Astoria. Excess
noise or loitering in areas not NYCDA inhabited can be cause for
removal. Help us maintain a pleasant relationship with the Waldorf-Astoria
so that they will look forward to our return visits.
Chaperones are required for all students age 15 or under
staying in the hotel.
NYCDA and the the Waldorf-Astoria are not responsible for
personal injury or property loss.
CONFIRMATIONS
Confirmation packages will be mailed to each studio within seven
to ten days of the convention. This package will include your confirmation
letter, studio code, National schedule of events and information
regarding the Waldorf-Astoria.
NYC DANCE ALLIANCE faculty are all master teachers, choreographers,
performers and coaches. If one of our fine teachers is not available,
we will substitute with an exceptional guest teacher from New York.
SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Dancers registered for the entire National Season Finale! workshop
and not participating in the National Outstanding Dancer Audition
are invited to take part in a NYC audition experience in a classroom
environment.
Pre-register dancers for Mini, Junior, Teen, or Senior
Audition Day by checking the audition box on the workshop registration
form. NYCDA Regional Convention Scholarships will be awarded.
NATIONAL NYCDA OUTSTANDING DANCER SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
All Regional Mini, Junior, Teen and Senior Outstanding Dancer Scholarship
Winners and Runners-Up are equally eligible for National NYCDA Outstanding
Dancer Scholarship Awards.
