MUSIC REQUIREMENTS
Please provide professional quality CD recording for each entry. A back-up CD must also be available for each entry. Cassettes will not be accepted.
All music must be submitted to our registration desk between
9:00 AM and noon on the day of the competition. Music will not be
accepted after noon. NYCDA entry labels will be provided when music
is submitted at the registration desk.
Each CD must contain only 1 number and must be labeled with the following information:
TITLE OF ENTRY
STUDIO NAME (CODE LETTER)
ENTRY NUMBER
All music must be cued with no more than 3 seconds lead
time. A deduction of 5 points will be made for improperly cued music.
It is recommended that all music be recorded in a non-dolby
format with audio recorded on both left and right channels.
ADJUDICATION OF AWARDS
All entries are adjudicated by four qualified judges. The
lowest score is always dropped and the three remaining scores are
tallied.
Platinum, High Gold, Gold, High Silver, Silver, Bronze awards will be presented based on the following combined scores:

All Platinum, High Gold, Gold, High Silver, and Silver awards will be eligible for the 2010 NYCDA National Season Finale! Qualified Regional Solos will be expected to compete in a Group, Line, or Production number to compete at the National Season Finale!.
COMPETITION AWARDS
Critics Choice Awards - Sponsored by Dance Magazine
High Score Soloist Awards - Sponsored by Body Wrappers
Awards will be presented to all competing entries who meet the Platinum, High Gold, Gold, Silver, High Silver and Bronze criteria.
Overall high scores in the Group, Line and Production categories
of the (7-10), (11-12), (13-15), and (16-18) age divisions will
receive a special award and a Regional Convention Scholarship.
Overall high score soloists in the 7-12 and 13-18 division
will receive a Regional Convention Scholarship and a special presentation
from Body Wrappers.
One Mini, Junior, Teen and Senior entry will be selected
to receive the NYCDA Critics Choice Award and will be presented
a special plaque of achievement. This entry must be a Group, Line
or Production. Each age classification must each have 6 entries
to warrant the awarding of the Critics Choice Award.
Each NYCDA Regional Critics' Choice Award Winner will receive FREE competition entry fees for that number at the 2010 National Season Finale!

AGE APPROPRIATE
NYCDA prides itself in maintaining a professional, classy, and family environment. Our ‘age-appropriate’ criteria will continue to appear on every score sheet under Costuming, Music Choice, and Choreography. Necessary deductions will be taken. Disqualification may result, at the discretion of the judges.
