SENIOR OUTSTANDING DANCER SCHOLARSHIPS
sponsored by Capezio/Ballet Makers
NYC Dance Alliance seeks to provide dancers (16-18) with
a professional New York audition experience through a scholarship
audition class. Audition class will commence with an open discussion
on audition technique, followed by a short ballet and jazz combination.
Only auditionees will be given access to the audition ballroom.
Absolutely no observers.
An elimination round may occur during the audition class.
At the completion of the audition class, doors will be open to all registered teachers, students and observers for the "Convention Finale" which will include final scholarship performances, judging, and awards.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
(1) Dancers must be registered for entire workshop as a Senior -
ages 16-18 only (age as of Regional Convention date).
(2) Dancers will be assigned numbers and attendance will be monitored
in all classes in their age classification during the convention
weekend. Dancers may be asked to perform combinations from workshop
classes during final audition judging. (3) Dancers planning to attend the Scholarship Audition class must notify the registration desk by Sunday 8:15 AM. Preregistration will be accepted by mail with initial workshop registration.
Two dancers in each city will be recognized with a NYCDA 2009-2010 Regional Sr. Outstanding Dancer Award. This presentation includes a special CAPEZIO Performance Made Perfect Award, scholarships to STEPS ON BROADWAY, PERIDANCE CENTER and BROADWAY DANCE CENTER and a 2010 NYCDA National Season Finale! Workshop Scholarship.
Two or more additional dancers in each city will receive a NYCDA 2010 National Season Finale! Workshop Scholarship, as Regional runners-up.
All Senior scholarship winners from the Regional NYCDA Scholarship Audition Class will be eligible to participate in the National NYCDA Sr. Outstanding Dancer Audition in July of 2010. Cash awards and Scholarships will be presented.
Unless registered as independents, all regional scholarship
winners will represent their registered studio for that city and
at Nationals. Scholarship awards are not transferable to another
studio, unless both teachers consent. Scholarship winners may attend
Nationals as independents.
TEEN OUTSTANDING DANCER SCHOLARSHIPS
sponsored by Capezio/Ballet Makers
Dancers (13-15) will participate fully in the audition process
with the Seniors, but will be evaluated with their own age group
in the final audition and awarded scholarships separately.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
(1) Dancers must be registered for entire workshop as a Teen and
take class in the Senior Ballroom. Ages 13-15 only will be evaluated
for scholarships as Teens (ages as of Regional Convention date).
(2) All above Senior eligibility requirements apply to Teen auditionees.
Two dancers in each city will be recognized with a 2009-2010 NYCDA Regional Teen Outstanding Dancer Award.
