Winter Junior Intensive!
(Open to Dancers Age 10-13)
The NYC Dance Alliance Winter Junior Intensive is a focused training session for the younger dancer. The mission of the Junior Intensive is to offer a four-day intimate learning/growth opportunity that introduces the dancers to our successful NYCDA Summer Dance Intensive format for older dancers, taking advantage of the dynamic diversity of NYC dance.

*A final Studio Showcase will be hosted at Steps on Broadway on December 30th. We anticipate ending by 4:00-4:15 PM.
TUITION
In-Person: $900
There will be no financial assistance or scholarships available for this Junior Intensive.

ELIGIBILITY & AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
The NYCDA Junior Intensive will accept a limited enrollment of young dancers ages 10-13. Admittance is granted by video audition only. Entire Application process is required of ALL dancers.
APPLICATION GUIDELINES
All prospective NYCDA Junior Intensive students must provide the following:
- Completed online application form
- Photo or headshot
- One letter of recommendation from dance instructors or qualified dance professionals. Dancers who have received an invitation of automatic acceptance to this program may upload their award certificate in lieu of the recommendation letter.
- Video ((Video is only required of dancers not automatically accepted through an NYCDA event.) Simple in-studio cell phone video is acceptable.
- Copy of Birth Certificate.
All applications must be submitted via online link by November 1, 2024.
Dancers who have completed applications/videos prior to November 1 may receive early notification regarding acceptance. We encourage early applications – first come, first served – subject to availability.
All dancers with complete applications will be notified of acceptance by November 7, 2024. A waitlist will be utilized.
Accepted dancers must confirm their spot with a $450 non-refundable deposit – due upon acceptance. A paid deposit is required to secure a spot.
Full payment is due by December 1, 2024.
VIDEO AUDITION/PLACEMENT GUIDELINES
All audition videos must include the following:
- Video intro of dancer that includes name and age.
- Ballet (required) - Present a short adagio and a grand allegro combination demonstrating control, line, extension, jumps and turns.
- Jazz/Lyrical or Contemporary (required) - Present a short 1 minute solo.
- Tap/Hip-Hop - you may choose to present a supplementary combination, but it is not mandatory.
Maximum video length is 5 minutes.
CURRICULUM
Dancers will be divided into groups for all morning technique classes. Afternoons and evenings will consist of work sessions in diverse styles, as well as choreographic rehearsals. Industry guests and professional forums will be included.
An informal Live Studio Showcase will happen on December 30 at approximately 2:00 PM. It will be hosted at Steps On Broadway - 2121 Broadway. A live stream of the showcase will also be available. More details to follow.
